We are told the CW route option is attractive because
it would be cheaper and quicker to build, but how refined are the estimates
and how accurate are they? Cheaper doesn't necessarily mean cost effective.
If the extension of the tram network proceeds, it
will be by far the most expensive project carried out in Nottinghamshire
for decades, involving hundreds of millions of pounds of public money.
Decisions taken now should be based upon proven value
compared to alternatives, on robust unquestionable evidence and total
costs, and not be governed by considerations of short-term advantage.
