An ENT article in the Nottingham Evening Post asked
NET to give an unequivocal assurance that the
ratepayers of Nottingham would not, directly or indirectly, fund further
tram extensions.
NO RESPONSE FROM NET.
Furthermore in the same article, NET were asked
to confirm that if the operators of the tram Network in Nottingham ran
into financial difficulties, the ratepayers on Nottingham would not be
required, directly or indirectly, to foot any losses incurred.

In order better to understand NET's Business
Case claims for patronage, they were asked to provide a comprehensive
breakdown of the journey time of a tram along the CW route, including
times between each stop.
NO DETAILS PROVIDED BY NET.
ENT asked NET for access to their consultants
in order to understand the cost benefit ratio model and details of the
funding for the project.

REFUSED THE REQUEST.
Pat Armstrong, NET Project Leader was asked,
in a letter dated 04/10/02, why NET had specifically
removed figures from a document provided to ENT, called the 'Assessment
Against Central Government Objectives'. Why was ENT not sent the document
in its entirety without the need to remove required information and key
figures?

NET have said the tram will lead to house price
increases. So ENT put it to them in a letter dated 10/01/03 "Why
not offer peace of mind to local residents by introducing the PPS scheme
which is backed by the Department for Transport? (The PPS is a Government
backed scheme, which has also been used by Central Railway, offering to
purchase homes close to rail or light rail routes at an agreed price.)

Why are you (NET) ignoring the Queen's
Drive route, an area that has been described as Nottingham's 'major employment
corridor'?

How exactly are Nottingham and Nottinghamshire residents going
to have to fund the local share of the hundreds of millions of pounds
needed to build the network extensions?

NET were asked about the stopping distance of
the 100ft tram, weighing over 50 Tons, travelling at the 50 mph that they
have described.

In the opinion poll NET commissioned,
people preferred the Queen's Drive route and the Clifton via Wilford route
was the least favoured of all the various options under consideration.
