Over the course of the last two years ENT has sent
numerous questions, requests for data and information to NET.
ENT has also requested access to their project consultants for more detailed
information.
One would expect that, as a public body and as officers of the Council,
NET would operate in an open and transparent
manner and in the spirit of true consultation.
Surely, after spending several million pounds of public money in engaging
expensive professional consultants, NET would
have most of the answers. Responses from NET,
if returned at all, have usually included a
'we are not in a position
to
' or ' we do not yet have the data to be able to
.' and other
responses of this tone.
Question after question, request after request, seeking to understand
the core of the project and the models on which the calculations have
been based, and which have led NET to consider
the CW route to be viable, have been either deflected or disregarded.
Frequently, NET responses have been returned
in a manner that has been nothing short of patronising.
As a result, over this extensive period, ENT have come to question does
NET really work? Why the lack of openness and
transparency? Is this a true network? Is there a hidden agenda?
