Where will all the passengers come from?

NET's consultants have calculated that in the first full year of operation, 2009/10 just under 4 million trips will be made by passengers on the CW route. In peak times there will be a tram running every 6 minutes in each direction. That's 10 trams an hour - each way!.

From the figures that are available to us we see that around 600,000 users each year will come from the Clifton park and ride site. That means for each tram which will have on average around 60 people on board, 85% of them will be people from Clifton, Compton Acres, Wilford and the Meadows.

ENT have calculated from the information we have from these predictions (and unfortunately NET have not made all the information available) that on average 20 people from our area will use each tram. That works out at around 3600 people each day from this area going to and fro.

If there is this level of demand, why have the bus services along Compton Acres been withdrawn?
