Surely NET have looked at all the alternatives other than
high cost tram systems?

Very little evidence has been produced by NET to show they have done extensive work in looking at the alternative forms of transport.

The cost of the tram extensions will be spread over a 30-year period and estimated at a total repayment of some 1.5 Billion pounds!

With fast development in technology during this 30-year period, transport using gas, fuel cell, electric and bendy buses would be likely to provide more flexible, efficient, much less costly and environmentally friendly alternatives.

But no proof that trams are the best solution has been provided.

As a final thought, NET say it is important for the tram to have a park and ride area in Clifton to relieve congestion. But this could be built now for use with buses and bus lanes?
